Well the truth be told, we've been hired as assassins and there's no room for blog housekeeping in the world of deadly assassination. From now on we'll keep all internet curiousita and/or JaLucy highlights to tiny url format on Twitter. And obviously our other ventures out there in the real world.

This is how it went down on Paddy's day. We've just recovered from the Christmas dinner-ésque food coma. In case you ever wondered, this is what you'll need to cook Guinness Stew with Colcannon:

Serves an office of 30.

Prep 4 hours (give or take red wine intake).

Stew Ingredients:

8 large, white onions
A lot of thyme
A bulb of garlic
7kg braising steak
20 tbsps corn flour
3 large cans of Guinness (it definitely turned out to be more though)
1½ liter beef stock
Parsley chopped to serve (ended up being forgotten about)

Colcannon Ingredients:

5 kg potatoes (with some well honed Gaelic/Gael arms for the peeling)
500g butter (sans diet)
500g sliced back bacon
4 small savoy cabages
500 ml double cream (and a cardiac death wish)

Chops things up with usual OCD analness. Put stuff in pots at intervals. Stir. Garnish table with pots of shamrock and self with Irish rugby jersey. Gobble. Finish with a trip to the Murders. Beat some boys at pool.

Have a look at the new Skittles website, it's essentially a twitter search for the word 'Skittles'. As if we all sit around writing 140 character Arias about how in love Skittles we are.

In actual fact Skittles have just built a platform for cheap PR. As soon as people cottoned on to what was happening, the cussing began. See below and have a scroll through the site for the birth of #skittlefisting (lulz to Si, Al et Tommy).

We're not sure how long this stuff is going to last, Mars Incorporated are probably not expecting it to be a marathon (hohoho) but it's certainly got us chatting about it (stats via Gui).

Things have been mental. Un petit projet goes live next week so we've been getting our max labour on. Here's some other stuff we got up to. Hiiiii-ooooooooh...

Monday - The Roundhouse with the Fleet Foxes.They are AMAZING live. This saw the beginnings of what we hope to become a mandatory 5 part harmony requirement for all meetings. So far it hasn't gotten off to the best of starts. Mind you that's what they said about the Eiffel Tower and just look at that bad boy these days, very popular!

Tuesday - brought with it the gift of recycled post-it notes. Definitely some sort of nerdy, OCD ridiculousness but they match Lucy's MacBook so that's all there is to say about that.

Wednesday - restorative times in the 'Arms. Here we admire the scratchy bit on the inside of Becks Vier pint glasses. It makes ones pint fizz in a sort of constant, to the dregs way, like a decent champagne glass does. This is fairly mundane stuff but it's the little things, you know?

Thursday - We got down to Teeth!!! in Hoxton Bar. This is getting a write up of it's own 'cause there's a spot of good news with regards to (Club Motherfucker Cover Girl this week) Veronica and the Simons. Here they are with some medium whack audio, the old handset doesn't do justice of course:

Friday - We Prince Georged it up to the hilt. One of our favourite Dalston Locals and generally a very nice place to be. Here's a preview of a WOWBROW/Ronayne collab', currently in post. General release March 2009. DOINK!

Friday night Matt had his solo show, off Curtin Rd. The gallery was filled with ex-Saint Martins successes, the fash' kids types randomly... Geri Halliwell. The showcase of photographs were taken over the past four years, including works from Matt's time at Less Common, Dazed & Confused and I-D.

Matt has been working closely with Gareth Pugh and Daphne Guinness in the lead up to fashion week. This month's Time Out, is a fashion special edited by Gareth Pugh and shows behind the scenes of the cover shot.

Gary Card also from Saint Martin's was there and features in Time Out too. He is the king of set design, at the moment. Gary told us his plans for New York in the coming year.

Good luck to all our friend's next week, when I asked Jackie Grubbs, (final year womenswear) 'who's the one's to watch?' she replied 'watch everyone!'

I often avail of you so criticising your ways may be a case of biting the hand that feeds. Nevertheless, you are a cruel and neglectful hand.

Yesterday I tried to calculate the hours I have spent waiting on you to come through for me. I have never been a particularly talented maths scholar so it took some time, something I had in abundance what with the indefinite flight delay you were in the middle of subjecting me to.

Bored with calculations, I set off on one of my tours of the perfume counter. These happen in the following manner; smelling every perfume I have ever worn (in chronological order), then smelling the scents of loved ones, then trying to assign miscellaneous scents to the type of characters I think should own them. Then a feeling of slight nausea.

Bored with perfume induced memories, I set off to Books etc. and underwent my methodical tour. I count how many of their 'recommended's I have read, how many of these are new from the last time I was there and how many of the covers of the ones that I haven't read are familiar from just such trips. This is specific to Books etc. of Gatwick, but I have similar OCD customs in Stansted, Luton and Dublin. Then I buy a book. Thank you this time around to Peter Carey. His illegal self soothed the many hours somewhat.

I also have systematical ways of negotiating the clothes shops and of picking magazines (thank you Monocle, Kita Koga is always a nice touch). Then there's the old 'on the hour coffee' which, I always think, is a very sad time in my life.

What I'm getting at here Ryanair is that I have devised many ways for dealing with you and your delayed flights. So all I ask is that you stop refering to yourself as "No. 1 for Customer Service with unbeatable prices and punctuality''. Aside from all the dead time, it needs to be said that a budget Antonio Banderas sporting a gold tooth and a lack lustre santa hat does not constitute customer service.

I once said goodbye to the love of my life for the very last time in Cape Town Airport, but being winked at by your budget Banderas was definitely more upsetting.

We are, by no means, fans of Dubya Bushingtons. The man is a doucheface. However, being shoed is a really undignified thing to happen to anyone, funny as it is to watch. The worst part of it is the rambling, sans spin doctor bullshit he runs with afterwards. 'It's like driving down the street and have people not gesture you with all five fingers.' I'm sorry, what? What was that? Maybe just stop talking. Try sitting in the corner and having a little think to yourself for a bit.

Our Chairman and Leader, Mr. Jon Claydon, has a home in the Cotswolds. It has been referred to as 'secret, festive location X' for the past few weeks. And that's where South London's favourite club descended apon for our 2008 Christmas Party.

I (Lucianna Ronany-i-o), with my month of holiday, got an early Lufthansa back to help with the setting up. Pictured below; Marie and Leo and the wonder wagon in various states of load. Not pictured; the handcream, toothpaste and Winnie the Pooh bath time colouring book we accidentally shoplifted from a popular nationwide chain of supermarket. Every little helps.

Reccy in Berlin

What a good place. I recommend The Bauhaus Archiv (Mies and the lads all under one Gropius roof), a random no-name bar in Tacheles (feels like being in on the squatting days), a restaurant called Sophien Esk near Hackescher Markt (for gross calorie consumption), a café called Anna Blume (named after a poem by Kurt Schwitters) in Prenzlauer Berg, indeed the whole area of Prenzlauer Berg (where I would happily move to, should the populus of Berlin require an Anglo-Hibernian writer) and finally, my new favourite thing, Berliner Weiße mit Waldmeister. Waldmeister is woodruff and it goes into your beer in cordial form, turning it bright green. A tastier drink I haven't known. Apart from Glühwein, the spices of which I bought by the packetful in readiness for the Work Club Christmas party. Thus concludes my reccy in Berlin. Ja!

From now on, we only talk in festive terms.

It's all kicked off, Christmas systems are go. Things got rolling this week with the 'Jerk Pub' hand out of who's got who for Secretive Santa Claus. We had our first Crisbo dinner party in our Chairman's house last night and the entire agency is off to our mystery party this time next week (in secret, festive location X). All this has meant one thing; planning. Something I enjoy immensely, nothing says holiday to the Ronayne mind quite like a colour coded list of objectives.

We had a lovely game of Supermarket Sweep in Marks and Spencers the other day. Our cherie Marie wheeled a trolley around while I ran alongside with an outstretched arm knocking anything red or white in. Thus inventing the crisbo, not unlike an asbo.

And despite our kinetic busy-ness levels and the Club having it's pitch face on, we sourced the time to recycle our old business cards.

'What are you doing? That doesn't look like copy writing.'
'No, it looks like FABULOUS.'

Mexican-Canadian artist Rafael Lozano-Hemmer has come to town and is taking over the joint. He’s a lovely fellow who does things in kinetic sculpture, responsive environments, video installation and photography.

Firstly Underscan is happening on the North Terrace of Trafalgar Square, until Sunday.

Basically there’s a massive rig of projectors beaming people in front of you. It’s a bit surreal, quite interesting and worth a detour should you be in that neck of the woods. Here we are. Appreciating.

Meanwhile, Frequency and Volume is happening in the Curve at the Barbican (Ronayne’s favourite hangout) until 18th January.

‘On entering the space, participants’ shadows are cast on the wall. Monitored by a video tracking system, each shadow tunes in to a radio frequency, changing channels as it moves around the gallery.’

Basically there’s lots of big shadows of the cats knocking about the place with accompanying radio chatter. It’s really lovely and definitely worth popping along to. Go. Go now.

Berocca 'Blogger's Relief' pack

Months ago we filled out a form for free Berocca, the hangover friend. Today a courier came along and put a parcel on our desk. Inside was all the 'anti-stress' paraphernalia above with a letter encouraging us to blog about it. Normally bribes, being bossed and brands do not make handsome bedfellows but this was a nice surprise. Again, the link between blogging and building one's immune system seems a bit on the tenuous side, but this was a nice surprise. We know Berocca is a good thing so now we are probably a step closer to the brand loyalty they are throwing so much money at. Cynical though this post may be, we can just about forgive them for the great Ok Go rip off horror of 2007.

The Black Keys

It had been going on for months. The hi-jacking of Club airtunes, the semi-serious countdown. A general air of 'the Black Keys are playing soon and we are very excited'. So last Wed' off we went on the London Underground to darkest Brixton. Gastronomically, we got off to a bad start. However, the homeless man in dirty MacDonalds - who seemed to favour our company - at least had the decency to ask us to give him money 'for crack' rather than putting us under any false illusions. He was a remarkably toothless chap but honest nonetheless.

Goals undashed, we careered along to the academy. Support band, name instantly forgotten, were rubbish. Then le Keys Noir entered stage right and times were happy. Until it became apparent that Carling Academy, with all of their chat about live music, had neglected to plug anything in. Worst sound ever. It made no sense. Gigs there are meant to have loud on their side, no?

I could see drummer Patrick Carney (who has an uncle named Ralph that used to play Sax with Tom Waits) kicking the shit out of his drums, I could hear that it was awesome, yet no nice, concerty loudness was there to be found. It was a tragedy of Shakespearean proportions. Plus I hate Carling.

This is a very lovely thing that HudsonBec do. Each month for the year 2008 they produce two posters, one by a famous Designer/Illustrator and one by a one of them on the rise. The theme is always 'If you could do anything tomorrow - what would it be?' Eyes above for Luke Best and Ryan Waller. Eyes here for the project site. Kemisty Gallery are going to be running an exhibition of all the work from 1st - 31st of December. Heart cockles; warmed.

Student Oyster application forms are a bit on the preachy side so we did ours cross eyed. They ran out yesterday which is good because now we can get them framed. As for the discount, TFL can keep it, we'll just pack away our glorious heels and ride in the miserable, freezing rain. Sigh.
